THE DANG TRAILS WERE OPEN IN VILAS COUNTY!! Checked my road ditches, farm field crossing, unplowed forest roads, the marked trail & all were socked in with a ton of snow. No tracks anywhere & no grooming on the trail so we are all being good boys & girls. We will see how things go this weekend. Will everyone continue to surpress the urge to ride until the 15th in WI? I would not bet on it. lol

Ya the trails aren't open here until the 14th because of muzzleloader deer season. tough to wait but there is so much snow it would be nice if the groomers were out.

I agree with ya nhra1000 I exspect to see tracks everywhere starting tomorrow. Clubs better have gates shut or sleds will be coming thru. I didn't see any hunter tracks on trails or Fire Roads snow is too deep to trudge thru & track deer seems like hunters are done freezing their butts off -0 temps. Pretty tuff to sit there & wait for a deer to wander by. Please stay off lakes still not safe.

Reported by: Michael P. Keintz - Frosty Snowmobile Club
Date of Report: December 9, 2009
Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: 8 to10 inches

Area Report: We have received a good 8 plus inches today on top of the 3 or 4 on the ground and the County gave us the go ahead to open all gates, so trails are open. Ronnie & I rode the whole system & opened all of the gates this afternoon. Tough job, but somebody has to do it. WHAT FUN, FLOATING THROUGH THE DEEP POWDER! Gates County wide may not all be open, pending inspections or Land Owner concerns, so if you encouner a closed gate,TURN ARUND, DO NOT TRESPASS! WET AREAS & LAKES ARE NOT YET FROZEN, BEWARE!

DON'T FORGET THE SUNRISE LODGE BENEFIT BREAKFAST THIS SATURDAY & SUNDAY. GREAT FOOD & ALL OF THE PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO THE TRAIL FUNDS.

OUR SNOWMOBILE SAFETY CLASS IS SET FOR DEC. 29 & 30/09, 9 A.M. TO 4 P.M. YOU CAN RESERVE A SPOT AT vettetime1@yahoo.com ANYTIME. We have room for thirty and the class fills quickly. The class is currently full, but we will take one or two on a waiting list, in case of cancellations, or no shows.

RIDE RIGHT, BE SAFE & ENJOY!

RIDE SAFE & ALWAYS RIDE "RIGHT"! REMEMBER, THERE ARE SLEDS COMING TOWARD YOU AT ALL TIMES!

Bombed around in the woods today...somebody has got to inspect Ubee's work! Didnt really go anywhere and still ended up with 20 miles. Its a shame that they wont open the trails. I heard and dont know if its true or not, muzzleloading ended Wed. and there is a anterless only hunt but its mid state and south. So why they arent open right now is beyond me..Enjoy a couple pics.
