ice conditions

I know every lake is going to be different, but what are people seeing as far as ice conditions/thickness in Vilas Co. Hoping lakes will be rideable by Christmas/New Years if we get some snow.

Ice fishermen close to the middle of our small bay. 4 tent shelters. Permanent ice shack on the north end of the lake. Local guy told me there has to be at least 6 inches out there now.
I've walked out across our bay the last two days, where it was open 3 weeks ago. With the next cold snap (later this week) it'll be safe for sleds.

Seen a atv other day on ice in Vilas I wouldn’t but I also would take a sled before any wheeled machine in beginning of season but heard 6-7” from people and 4” from others

I was up at my cabin 3 weekends ago and watched a guy take a couple of hot laps around our bay. He didn’t have to worry though. If he broke thru his testicles were large enough that he would have floated right to the surface.
