Ice Fishing Newberry, MI

The guys want to do a ice fishing weekend the end of February. What lakes do you recommend. Pike Lake is very close to the cabin but i'm thinking Big Manistique might be better?

North (aka Round), Big, and South Manistique lakes are all popular with ice fisherman. Of those three, the South lake probably offers the best fishing.

You could also check out Twin Lakes (just west of Newberry on M-28)...contains some splake and rainbows, as well as a few northern pike.

The guys had a good time. Ended up fishing Bodi Lake and the pike were biting. Only ended up with 2 keepers but also caught a nice walleye and a couple rock bass.

32" pike and 23" walleye. Was hoping to go again next weekend.
