IGrip Studs

Has anyone tried the IGrip studs? They look very easy to install and don't look like it's going to kill the track also?
Would love to see if anybody has used this stud or should I just install the woody's?

I like the looks of Igrip and would use over traditional studs in a heartbeat. I will need to replace my 144 ice ripper track soon and it will be a consideration to use Igrips in a lightly
Used track or buy a new ice ripper. Either or because I won’t use traditional studs done with them

From the "About US" link on their web site:
"We have been involved in tires for over 7 years and you can count on our experimented [sic] staff to answer your questions about tires and studs.
Our headquarter are [sic] located at …"

  1. "… our experimented staff …" Experimented? Calling Dr. Frankenstein?
  2. "Our headquarter are [sic] located at …" It are?

I wouldn't count on it....more likely two guys that dropped out of engineering school, and decided to design and sell a stud out of their garage.

They are located in Quebec which is French speaking. That should explain poor English skills.

Yep exactly! You can tell who has dealings with Canada and who does not. Lots of good aftermake sled products by the French speaking people up North of the border. Poor English skills slow things down a bit but doesn’t at all mean bad products. Snow tracker carbides is a perfect example nothing better for Yamaha single keel skis.

I like the smaller size of the igrip which hopefully makes them safe to use on most tracks.
I used RTS ice-masters which have a larger diameter and carbide.
The 1.6 Cobra and 1.5 Storm are the only 2 tracks I know of that I'd use them in.

How are they to install? Easy or Hard?

An entire track takes minutes instead of hours....no drilling,.... just grab a cordless and giver.
5/16" nut driver which came with my screws.

Just make sure your track is worthy with a proper lug, ...otherwise you could throw one and cause damage to a heat exchanger but then again so can old fashioned studs.
I think the screw-ins got a bad rap that way but with the newer track designs that also host pre inserted ice studs,...these are a great option.

We spoke with them at the Milwaukee snow show a few weeks back. A riding buddy bought a set from them, and will change out his traditional studs for these. The couple that was at the snow show were French speaking, so I assumed they were French Canadian. They gave him a great deal on the set of studs, with the condition he provide real feedback. I hope these work out for my buddy or the Igrip people will get an ear full....brutal honesty at its finest..
