Ill handling IQ

I have an 09 600 Dragon IQ
I decided to stud the track 144 up the middle I weight 200 LBS. The sled has Dual 8" Slim Jim duallies on it. It really pushing through the corners I have adjusted the torsion springs from low to Medium and that did help, I went to adjust the limiter strap however, it has no adjustment this skid has just one strap and no additional holes for adjustment ( I did check under the washer just to make sure) The sled does corner good if you are riding hard but not at a resonable pace. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to correct the push.

I kind was thinking about adjusting the track shock looser to see if that helps
Thanks for the input

144 up the middle? That seems a little excessive but hindsight is 20/20. That is a LOT of rotating mass.

Put more tension on the front springs. That may help.

I have watched on other websites others losing the dooleys in front, they claim they are packing with ice and have problems holding corners.

I ran dually 4's on my 2007 600 with a 1.25 ripsaw. Added some tension to the front shocks and it cornered great at all speeds. I think you are having issues because it's over-picked. 96 down the middle would be the max needed IMO for that sled.

Here is my set-up and I will be honest with you, my sled will out corner any Rush or XP that I have ridden with. BUT, it did make the rear of the sled very twitchy, but I like it this way.

I weigh 230lbs.
Front ski springs, as loose as you can get them without the retainers coming off in air. This is to lower the COG so the sled isnt so tippy. You must set these with skis off the ground.

Are you for sure you dont have more holes in the limiters? I tightened my limiters one hole. This gives more ski pressure.

I loosened the front track shock as loose as it will go as well. This also helps with ski pressure. But I do have a tendency to bottom out on bigger moguls. I actually am gonna slowly put a little more preload back on this.

I turn the rear torsion springs up to the max. Its needed for my weight on it helps keep the skis planted. Again helps with ski pressure.

The transfer blocks are turned for the least amount of weight transfer. This keeps skis firmly planted under acceleration.

I have Slydog trail skis in the front with 6" carbides. 144 studs down the center.

If your gonna go cruising with the wife, this set-up sucks! This set-up steers hard going slow, but easy at higher speeds. If your gonna be a trail racer, this is a great set-up. Especially on trails with icy corners.

Obviously what I like might not be good for you, but this is how I do it. Hope this helps with you achieving what your looking for.

BTW, I have never had good luck with duallys. IMO the only thing they are good for is reducing darting.

I just shimmed my skis and seemed to really help take away the push I was experiencing.
(Also did set ski shock preload to miniumum)

Take a look at how your wear bars are wearing, mine were wearing towards the front, shimmed the skis, now just the very front of the carbide is off the ground with the remainder in contact with the surface(concrete floor)

Did you order their shims or did you make your own? This seems extremely practical. Any set of carbides that I have changed have worn in the front when the rear was in much better shape.

The shims were included with the carbides I had purchased from Bergstrom Skegs, definately could make your own. Probably could get just the shims from them too.

Here's a link with more on shimming the skis & making your own:
