AND WHINNING, and I'm sure many of you are sick to death of this topic of being disrespectful to land owners. But Dave worked on our parking lot for 9 plus hours pushing back banks and making the parking lot larger,so people have a secure place to park ( sec. cameras on site), we don't care if you drop and ride for the day. Most come in and ask or call ahead, we don't care until you do what a group did this a.m., they dropped off, ( DIDN'T ASK)again as long as there is room for our paying cutomers we don't care!!!!!! But this group unloaded and proceeded out of our drive( WHICH WE ASK NOT TO BE USED BY SLEDS AS IT MATS IT UP)went up over the banks that Dave worked all day on to open up our drive as it was completely drifted over with at least 5' of snow, blasted the drive, side hilled and tore right down to our freshly planted hillside ( done last fall) and proceeded up the side of the highway which is a fun place to ride but why tear up our drive way. Dave is gone to a groomers meeting and show ,some 2 hours plus from here, and now getting into our drive won't be easy, plow is off of truck otherwise I WOULD GO AND PLOW FOR HIM, NOW HE HAS TO COME HOME TO MORE WORK!! I probably should'nt have left a note for them as I'm sure it'll just get tossed, but I asked them to be more respectful(in a very nice manner, when I would have rather been a b----) as what they did this morning is what's got land owners pissed! Thank you I've vented!BUT I'M STILL PISSED : ( gggrrrr

I'm thinking that you need to accidentally block them in so they have to come and talk to you. Then you can tell them how it is. Or just have them towed seeing how they didn't even ask permission to park there!

My thoughts EXACTLY. Plus get their licience plate number just in case they decide to do some more stupid things.

In either case, let Dave be the one to talk to them and tell them where they went wrong and maybe he can look like he just got back from doing some coyote hunting... if you catch my drift!

There's this little black thing on the rim of the tire. You take this little cap off and find the center and push. Some how the air comes out and you didn't know how it happen. You can try it on more than one tire and experiment.

Is it a covered trailer? if so, find a lock and lock it. They have no choice but to inquire about the lock then you do the "just got back from coyote hunting" thing.

Not a covered trailer? then have a couple of your loyal customers help you take the wheels off the trailer. Then execute the coyote move when they return.

Buy a boot for the wheel. You put the boot on and they can not move their vehicle. Either they pay you to remove the boot, or then you have them towed. I would not do anything malicious, as tempting as that may be, keep it legal.

How does it go? God is great, the beer is good & people are CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!
I have had my fill of crazy people this year too but they win if they get you really pissed. Try talking to them but like said people are CRAZY so good luck.

Absolutely have them towed!! It's your property, it deserves respect. I would also suggest putting up a sign of some sort that says "customer parking only". The boot idea would be quite effective too. Either way, do something to force them to come see you.

Tow first, ask questions later (works real well here in the Cities)

Never mind the p's and q's, seems like a few f's are in order.

Hand them shovels and make them fix the damage. I'm sure an apperance by your local law enforcement when they come back would get the job done. Sorry to hear you have to deal with people like that.

I like this idea or towing. Three trucks......hmmmmm, you always here how people in the UP should appreciate the $$$ we spend there.

Unfortunately we do live in a society of avoiding confrontation. Some confrontations must take place for change. Unless you confront groups like this, it will continue to take place. I will assume you know the local LEA (law enforcement agency), ask that they are present as you have a discussion with the individuals. Just as the LEA to be present during any discussion. As a business owner, you have that right.

Confrontation can be a good thing if done the correct way.

If possible have them towed. More than likely they will be swilled when they return and when they go talk to the law about getting their vehicle back some interesting things could happen. YOU do not want to be talking to them when they are full.
