In Honor of a Fallen Friend of the Site

I received news today that a friend of the site and person who attended several of the Ride-Ins was tragically taken from this world on May 25th. I had the pleasure to not only meet this person, but ride with both he and his wife during one of the Ride-In events.

To honor his life, there is a Memorial Golf Outing taking place at Lake Lawn Lodge in Delevan WI this August 11th.

Here is a pdf file with more info on the event. Unfortunately I am not able to make it down for the event, but will be sending a donation to the event. It would make me proud to know that others from this site would contribute what they can, perhaps even get together to sponsor a hole or form some 4-somes!

Thanks.

Way to young to be taken. But, I believe God has a plan for us all. May he rest in peace!

I also can’t imagine how hard this must be for his family. To lose a father/husband so suddenly is something no one ever expects to have to deal with. Printed off the form this morning and will definitely send a donation as a fellow JD member.</SPAN>

This happened less than 20 minutes from my house and was all over the news afterword. I've driven past where this happened numerous times and the skids marks are still present on the road. Hits closer to home being a fellow JD'er. I never heard any follow-up as to why the boy crossed the center line.

Jeff and I were best friends. I'm also a fellow law enforcement officer. I run his memorial page on Facebook, "Lt Jeff Kreft Memorial", Please feel free to friend the page, We have a long rode ahead. We've done numerous JD ride ins over the years. Thanks John for posting the info above. We are in need of donations. We've set up a scholarship fund in Jeff's name at gateway technical college. A 1k scholarship will be given annually to a police science student. If we fulfill our goal on the scholarship funding we will be making a donation to c.o.p.s camp. A camp for kids of officers killed on duty. Thanks again. Feel free to contact me at packerfan288@yahoo.com or through the memorial fb page. My name is John Lysaght.
