Injection oil

Ok we all know Sea and Snow is the best oil and you only purchase it from fleet supply when there is a rebate, so let’s skip over that part. :)

My son will be riding a 1980 Yamaha Enticer 250 free air this year. The oil pump will be removed so I’ll be pre mixing his gas. First question any reason I can not use the same oil (no I am not running sea and snow) that I am using in my 2 stroker (proper measurement and mix it up)? If there is a legitimate reason I should not what type of oil should I look for. I’ll most likely be mixing 5 gallons at a time.

Second question I was thinking to mix it at a 40:1, rather run it a little rich then to lean...thoughts on that?

Thanks for any input

41 years old. Any type of oil made today is 100 times better than its model year. Keep your fuel fresh, and run any mix ratio you feel comfortable with. 40/1 is plenty of oil.

Why are you taking off the oil pump?

On this particular sled the original carburetor is also the fuel pump and oil pump. Replacement parts are hard to come by so removing the original and adding a new fuel pump and modern Mikuni carburetor. Trust me this is not my genius concept, sounds like plenty of people have done this, just new to me hence asking for some opinions.
