Looking for a few more safe riders to go to split the cost of fuel and have larger group. 3 day loop. Must have good running modern sleds, can do/ready to go attitude and some survival skills and supplies for any mishaps that could occur in remote Ontario. Leaving Wed afternoon from Lansing, MI, meeting buddy at his cottage in Higgins Lake, can pick up/meet along the way? Have room for up to 5 sleds in trailer and truck (Chev Avalanche with 29ft enclosed trailer), so 2-3 guys/sleds additional.

Itinerary:
Wed Feb 20th
Drive to WaWa, stay at Bristol motel

Thurs Feb 21st
WaWa to Timmins (335 miles)
Long day, twisty section of trail
Stay at Pine Ridge Motel in Timmins

Friday Feb 22nd
Timmins to Hearst (257 miles)
Fun section, lots of wide-open and hilly
Stay at Companion (heated sled storage for a fee)

Sat Feb 23rd
Hearst back to Wawa (250 miles)
lots of long straight-aways, wide trails, lots of fun
Stay at Bristol

Sunday Feb 24th
Drive back home

email Brian at bmgrubich@yahoo.com if interested. Thanks.

Man, that sounds like fun! I've always wanted to go up there, but thinking more of Quebec. This year on Snow Trails TV, they have had trips in Canada on and it's looks like a whole different world of sledding up there. What is the nearest airport to Wawa and can you rent sleds and gear there? I will not drive that far from where I'm at!

Wawa has an airport to fly into and just down the street is Jone's Polaris and they rent sleds.

Darn phone posting at the lake, anyways, you can walk from the airport to Wawa motor lodge or the Bristol. Wawa has a taxi also. To far to walk to dealer. Also there is a skidoo rental/chainsaw store across the street from the Bristol. Call the hotel and they will hook you up as far as getting rentals, etc. Beer store and bars are within walking distants too!

Good info PR1, thanks. If we get shut out down here, I may try to get up there this year. I'm assuming you have to take a smaller plane in to Wawa and I doubt there are any direct flights, but beats the drive from here! If I had a bucket list, Canadian trail riding would be on it. It will happen someday, no doubt about it!

Time is running out, start your bucket list. I have seen small jets on the tarmac. They have concrete runway, control tower and plenty of lights. You could also fly into the Soo and drive up 3 hrs. The trail riding there is fantastic. Off trail not bad either.

F trail not open thru Chapleau yet. Still waiting for good coverage. If you need anything feel free to call. I will give you my number. I am dabbling with trailering service for unforseen troubles, gaps, and distances in the trail system. Maybe I can host a quick break and warmup when you get to Chapleau. Timmins is def. an all day trip. Have fun
