As a continuation of my report before, my brother and I ventured out Saturday morning towards Wisconsin. The trail from Indianhead to Hurley was in good shape after Ramsey crossing. Around the ski hills is still rough with some water sports and not enough snow on the plowed roads yet.
We ended up taking 17 south all the way to Mercer. Great smooth ride, lower snow than normal, but plenty to make it down. Only passed a few people on the trails. We were told in the Heart of the North that everything south of Mercer was closed. We then backtracked up and went through Pence on 2/77 and out to Saxon Pub on Trail 2 and then up to get gas in Cedar. Trail 7 south was closed, so couldn't do a loop. Parts of trail 2 were really good, other parts were slightly below average. For early season riding it was in good shape. Did not go past Cedar and turned around and went back to base at Indianhead and decided to pick up and go home early Saturday evening. Through the weekend, we put on 200 miles.
