Iron County Wisconsin

Iron County has opened the trails as of today. It's been a lot of work getting the rollers and drags through as we've had many wet areas. Also the wet snow has required the clubs to do a lot of brushing the hanging limbs. I put 100 miles on today and as our "Trail Boss" said at last nights meeting; "The Trails that are open are in the best condition that he has seen for an opening weekend in over 10 years"...I agree.

A few trails are closed and watch out for some wet spots. Also bring along a pair of "nippers" on your sled and help out with clearing the hangers on the trail. Also If you see some large stones/rocks, lease stop and toss them off the trail.

Anyone wanting some good riding this early head to Hurley!

Trails were near mint Saturday morning north of pine lake. They were out grooming early Sunday morning as we left. Good riding in northern iron county right now.

Rode trail 6 to upson then up to Saxon back down to trail eight. That was all fresh groomed and nice. Then followed 8 East down past Fisher lake to Beaver Lodge. From there down to flowage and back up to island lake on 14 then to Montreal.

North of Pine lake has more snow. Rode 13 and 15 - both great. Rode Cramer lake rode from Mercer to pine lake. It was good. The grade from pine lake back into Mercer sucks. Not enough snow. We rode from Minocqua to Saxon that day (Saturday). We took the short pass up to 2. It was a little bumpy. The grade was perfect up there.
