Ironwood area tips

Looking at planning a trip for the family to the Ironwood area for this upcoming weekend. Any tips for the area? Trails/towns to avoid?

Maybe go skiing instead, the trails will be full of Ricky racers on the weekend and the trails will be mogul fields. If you want to ride, go midweek.
Sorry, I speak the truth.

Don't plan on taking the fam to the clubs in Hurley lol.

Unfortunately with work schedules, this Fri - Sun is the time I have to work with

you could take trail 160 for a look at the superior falls, then check out the ice flows in saxon harbor, the lake and falls are pretty cool frozen up. maybe some lunch if the harbor lights is open. then loop back thru saxson.
by car check out the ski jump copper peak on hwy 513. then a series of falls north along the black river to the lake.

Do you have Wisconsin passes? The back routes down toward Turtle Flambeau are usually decent.

From Ironwood east things get pretty beat up in Michigan and then you run into the Bergland area mess. Just get out early and be careful how far you ride. Nothing like heading 100 miles back at night with 30 miles of moguls.

the trails out toward Saxon Harbor are good - less traveled and good snow. It just gets kind of sparse out there for the little ones, in terms of warm-up spots and bathrooms.
