Ironwood to Wakefield

Maybe that groomer operator is a Volunteer firefighter battling the fire in Ironwood early this morning? Remember most if not all operators are volunteers.

Was told by my son who manages a restaurant that there is no water in Ironwood. Only option for breakfast is bottled water or soda. No coffee and nothing made that has to be cooked with water. May last for a couple of days. Be careful where you eat for the next day or two.

I'm thinking about riding out of Hurley/ironwood next week. Are conditions better riding WI? From recent posts the high traffic route to get to gogebic and the U P from Ironwood are getting better, but has been a problem this season.
Thanks in advance for any reports

I'm heading up to Hurley tomorrow morning. We'll probably stick in WI for a day, and then head to UP after. I can report then.
We were up there 1 month ago, and 2 was superb heading to UP. This was Sunday-Wed, and after a 10" storm though.

That will be great, can't wait to hear what you encounter.. With tonights snowfall you should have awesome conditions!!
I'll be anxiously waiting for your report!!

I was near Wakefield, Bessemer/Marenisco the last couple of days. We headed South and East. Phenomenal. I hadn't been to the UP in years, but it was some of the best riding I've had in a long time. Ran into a few bumps here and there, but nothing I would consider even rating fair. Plenty of snow. Pretty much all freshly groomed yesterday. It had also snowed about 4" Monday into Tue. Tues night there was a dusting near us, but other areas must have had another inch or so.

Rode out of Hurley the last couple days. In MI, really rough stretches were on 1S(west of Gogebic). This is where it "starts" at Gogebic Lodge intersection due to it being closed north of there due to logging. The other rough spot is the trail 2 reroute that goes around ski hills. Snow was already thin in the actual trails. Rode runs will be bad after warm temps. Both trails heading back into WI were great(1/2 and 11).
Trails around Hurley were great, except road run trails. Grade north of Mercer up to where Hurley starts grooming was bad. Hadn't been groomed since weekend traffic though. Stick to trails in the woods and will be great!!

This coming weekend is my last weekend to ride. I think I might have screwed myself not riding last weekend. Supposed to come up Thursday and stay through the weekend. Staying at Indianhead. Should I keep calm and braap on or cancel?
