Is it an El Nino Year?

I have not seen anything official, but the current forecast pattern and the recent past sure looks like it.

sure seems that way. This has to be the worst winter i can remember around here in a long time.

It's been very close since around last Oct-Nov, but has never been officially classified as an El Nino.

While not a true El Nino pattern, I suspect that the below average snows for much of the Midwest is due in part to what is happening in the El Nino region.

Hope these conditions will not repeat for a few years. Many businesses sure could use a break and depend on the income from us economy input drivers.
