If eagle1 had posted what video it was I wouldn't asked for a link. I remember the video from last year. With what he posted too good to not repost I wanted to see what it was. In fact if the video even would have had Johns face, like it does now, I'd probably figured it was that video. It was just a black box when I asked for the link.
Somebody needed to start it
As of yesterday at 3 pm that dang mat was not down, what gives?
Of course, I rode across it but it deters me wanting to go across twice a day.
The mat is not down and it is not known when it will be. The highway department is still doing work on the bridge and needs to raise and lower it periodically and thus we cannot put the weight of the mat and snow on it until they say we can.
Watch the video above ^^^^^, you will be just fine without. They only started doing the mat around 15 years ago. I can remember in my first 10 years or so riding up here, we crossed just fine and did not think anything of it.

I rode the bridge twice today and once yesterday and I will ride it again tomorrow
In my opinion and everyone at the Ramada bar last night, the bridge ...ahem; sucks the big one!
here's one for ya
went across the bridge saturday with my duraflex ice scratchers down,got to the other side got off sled and both the replaceable tips were snapped off..got snagged on the expanded metal.My brother runs them on his sled and did not have any problems.From now on i will be putting them up until the mat is down
