Could be...but closer to home.

NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WFRV) – Residents in the Upper Peninsula who took a peak at the sky Sunday evening may have caught a glimpse of an aurora. a.k.a. The Northern Lights!
The National Weather Service in Marquette provided a picture of a ‘great’ aurora that was on display. Around 10:35 p.m. local time, a photo was taken at the National Weather Service in Negaunee.

Earlier in the day, the National Weather Service said an aurora was possible. A geomagnetic storm was underway, and the clear skies provided optimal viewing conditions.

Neat, huh?

Great posts. I must admit there are times when the scenery from a snowmobile is so awe-inspiring it connects with me in a very spiritual way. It’s these moments that keep me coming back for more, and leave me so thankful for the natural beauty surrounding us and the opportunity to experience it. It’s so easy to be troubled by this chaotic world, and lose sight of the many God-given blessings all around us.

I have many more but those were my favorites. Stunning views. First time out west and definitely worth it at least once. I will go back however.

My one take-away from the above pictures is that unless you're on a snowmobile, you would never be able to see these places. Snow Shoes? Cross Country Skis? Both doubtful with these remote locations and altitudes. Even the more domesticated areas we ride are never seen by most people during the winter months. We should feel fortunate to visit these places and I do!

you mean my pics?

The pic of the river is actually by a cabin next to that river that is owned by the forest service and can be rented out. You can't see it in the picture but the road leading to that spot is on the right side hugging the river bank. The cabin is rented by boy scout troops and groups like that.

As far as two top...not sure but the trail is a forest road all the way to the top I believe. Apparently there are SXS and ATV groups who can ride up there in the summer.

to address not being able to see them in the winter, yes. Only by snowmobile in the winter.

And yes, it was stunning
