That looks like a picture taken by MODIS, they take 3 pictures of the great lakes every day.

http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/modis.cgi/modis?region=s&page=1

They are always fun to look at

And do you know WHY they take pictures 3 times a day, costing millions and millions of tax-payers money?? Well do yah?

It's to keep track of some guy who throws sticks in that water for his dogs to chase and dah government just don't trust him at all....figure he is up to somethin because who else would walk the beach of the big lake and send his dogs in the water to freeze their butts off???? I don't know, but I would not be surprised to find out he is on dah BIG list....either.

Owns two retrievers, but doesn't hunt.....own's a cat but won't jump it!

Kum to think of it....not sure I would trust sumbunnie like that either.....maybe money well spent.....

Sum folks just need to have big brother keep'n an eye on them and dats the rest of dah story! (Paul Havey style)

Artificial colors and sweeteners.

Actually, the truth is the sensors on the MODIS satellite do detect the different wavelengths that different objects put out, but the image does have the color added to it via software and the data given back from the satellite.

So I guess it is best described as you are seeing the truth, just enhanced because in reality, those colors would not show up so vivid from so far away. Too much atmosphere to look through.
