With a number of large storms entering the West Coast, it's time to awaken Meester Bleezard. We have been in a snow drought here for too long & we are over due for a MAJOR refreshening of our snow cover. Hopefully in time enough for the JD Ride In for the Make A Wish Foundation. So the call is out, HEERE BLEEZARD BLEEZARD!!!! Bring the rest of the family too! It's time to shake things up a bit!-Mezz

Heikki Lunta's Snow Dance-Classic!!

I have good ole Heikki Lunta's Snow Dance, not on the vinyl 45, but on CD now. When this use to play on the radio it seemed as though it's magical words worked, though usually anytime here would appear that it did due to our regular snowy weather. On the flip side of this record is Heikky Go Away. Seemed that he felt the need to make the snow stop (fool). These songs were written by a local man at the time, I think his last name was Riutta. I can't recall his first name but, I am pretty sure I was his paperboy for a few years when he lived on Tamarack Hill. It is & will remain a good old classic representation of original Yooper humor & folklore. Today, we have Meester Bleezard, though I have been disappointed with his lack luster showing lately, the shout goes out, "HEERE BLEEZARD BLEEZARD". I just may dust off Heikki & take him out of retirement for a bit. Wha da ya tink, ehh? Desperate times call for deperate measures?-Mezz

Yeah, what's up with that?
Maybe if you play your CD and I play my 45 at the same time it will have synergistic powers.

Here's another Yooper record from my collection. maybe I'll go post it in the "Bar Hopping" thread and see what kind of reaction I get ;)

Dodge Street!

OMG, Holy Flashback upsledder! Now I really feel dated. I remember that band, they played at a number of local venues to include high school dances. Nice to see that someone keeps this kind of memorabilia. I am going to pull Heikki out of retirement for a spell tonight & blast it out to the ice rink as I flood. Think Heikki! Think Snow! Think Bleezard! -Mezz

"… e-mail me an mp3 of those tunes. … or put them on youtube …"
Of course doing that would constitute a copyright violation!

(Notice the last line of the HEIKKI Records' "Heikki Lunta's Snow Dance Song" record label, where it reads: "© WMPL 1970".
