Job Hunting

Looking to move to the northern Wisconsin area from central Illinois. Just wondering where my best bet would be for jobs at landscaping companies in the Forest, Vilas, and Oneida county areas. Thank You, Sky

Not sure if the name is exactly correct. They are sister companies.

lots of jobs but expensive to live here cause of tourist area! gas is highest in the state! groceries high year round! once you move here you are stuck here for the rest of your life cause you will never make enough money to leave! .02 worth

Crime ...... home & apartment theft going up in Vilas. Unemployment in the teens way higher than national 9.7%. Landscaping jobs will be sucked up by locals if they can get them. Oneida your best bet overall for any type of job. Just remember it is much colder up here even in summer.

Be prepared to adjust your living style. Wages seem to be much less up here. I moved "up north" in 2005 from the Twin Cities area. I have an excellent job but make about half the money. I am in a professional field so the money is still pretty good. I would never even think of going back to the cities even though I just recently was offered a job there from a former colleague. Sirens, traffic jams and just the general crowdiness of the cities is gone. Basically, one only has to worry about hitting a animal crossing the road. My wife and I love it here.
