Sleds for rent at Cadillac Sands Resort/ Funtime Rentals

We rented a Ski-doo 550 touring sled form them last week for a couple days and all their sleds are pretty beat up. Hoods coming off, ripped tracks, guages that did not work, body pieces missing, etc...The sled reserved for us had a torn track, we did not take it out & they had 2 other touring sleds siting there with completely torn tracks that morning.

I know rental sleds are going to be abused, but these were really bad. My 10yr old sleds looked like brand new compared to these that were less that 5 yrs old.

Just a word of caution. (The next guy in line was there to rent a touring sled also and he was out of luck, luckily we got the last running one)

I have not stayed there yet. The workers at the front desk were very friendly and I have heard they have good food. Just a bad experience with their rentals. They were the only ones with availability that week and were a little cheaper on their rental rates too...now I see why.

I don't bash/trash companies, but just putting out a word of caution to anyone considering a rental from them.

They have 2 garages at the back of the hotel where they rent them and have a mechanic service/preps them. We got lucky to still get one, if we would not have had the rental not all of our family would have been able to ride at one time. That would have been a real bummer!

Hopefully they can get them all back up and running so that it doesn't happen again. It can ruin a vacation.

I think Fun Time use to be down the street or they have another shop down the street.

As far as the hotel it old, but nice, but everything in that part of Cady is old. I've only stayed once when it was just my wife and I. Only problem is you so far from the main trails, for us it is as far east as we normal ride. We normal ride toward to Irorns/ Baldwin etc. If you have a big group check out Coyote Crossing Resort Right by the groomer barn.

I had to rent a Sled last year form Lost Pines Lodge, my crank went on mine. My Rental sled was damaged I even fixed a few thing the first day of riding. I then ran in to the guy that was the "wrencher" for LPL I started asking him some question turned out I had meet a family (remember this) at The Boone Fire 3 years ago bragging how they were on the 2th sled in 4 hours, kids ages where 14 to 21 and then MOM and DAD. The dad was passing the bottle of Jagermeister around. Saw them on the trail the next day 4 wide taking the trail up on a turn and with one sled (the one I rented) in to a Power Pole. We stop and help. Sled was ridable but need work. LPL fixed just enough to make it look ok.

Oh if you rent for LPL unless you are staying there they want the sled back by 7pm. I stayed there in the past and was able to talk Rick in to 10pm. When I brought it back and I had fixed some things. Rick told me I could keep it as long as I wanted for the next day, just have it back before he closed the bar.
