Just Slogged Thru A Foot Of Snow

Got to be a foot of heavy wet snow in Phelps + huge maple tree down in my driveway too. Called to have our road plowed too deep for small cars to get thru.
It's been a fun 3 days for April! LOL Where was this in Jan & Feb? 65 by next Thursday can't wait got to split the maple & stack for firewood.

What do you know of what they got south of you by 20 or so miles? Like southern Vilas? Headed up there in a couple of hours. This is ridiculous - I wait all year for snow and get jack -sheet, now this garbage in April.

Just pushed 8+ of snow with the ATV in Eagle River. Absolute blizzard at times today! Too bad I have motorcycle on my mind already...

Most of Vilas got 6-8 today and an addtional 6 earlier in the week. Got to be a foot on the ground & in the woods ....12 degrees tonight. Towns not doing much plowing in April so be careful out there.

Picked up 2 more inches last night and more snow Sunday. Looks beautiful today blue bird sky but sooooo done with this. Looking forward to 60s next week.

We got 1" yesterday. Last night a friend and myself rode to the bug bar and seen just a little snow falling. Got back at 10:30 and started to snow, woke up this AM to another 6" of new freshies. Even though I am ready for the next season it still excites me every time it snows.

well here in PA< I have had more days with snow falling in April, than I did in Dec/Jan/Feb/March
right now calling for 3-6 inches here, and been falling since about 8 am or so
and I am NO where near any lakes

all winter weather here went from 10 to 60 degree's at random it seemed, 40-50 degree temp swings almost every other day it seemed
LOUSY winter for any snowmobile owners
our trail system never even opened once the whole season,
Global warming or ?? but nothing is predictable as it once was ion my area
Last July we had a few days in the low 50's upper 40's??
and this past Dec we had days in the near 80's??
NUTS!!

but snow this time of yr doesn't last long, just brings out the mud and lousy drivers!!

I'm west of ER by 4 miles, and north of 70 by 1. I had a good 7-8" in the driveway. Couldn't get the SUV thru with AWD due to ground clearance, so I shoveled an area at the drive end, at 11:30 Friday P.M.
Then on Saturday shoveled the entire driveway by hand, since I usually do a heavy workout on Saturday - 2 hours. I would of been riding nice snow - IF IT WAS FEBRUARY!

just so you know....theres one more month left of snow...the seasons have turned by 2 months due to axis shift

Saw 70s on next weekend long range for Phelps. Now will it happen? Yes we missed this April snow in Jan & Feb nice wet stuff would have done wonders for Vilas trails. Venturenorth & I still put on 2500 to 3000 miles mostly in UP & thank goodness for FRs to get to UP or we would have been screwed!

I would start riding the UP more, and buy a trail pass, but I don't trailer to ride. Too much of a hassle getting it un-tucked out of garage corner. I don't like riding thru ER. so I always go west and then north on 7, over to Conover, and Bents Camp is 42 miles one way. Makes for a longer day than I'd want, to continue to the UP. When I get retired in a few years I'll start thinking about riding the UP and start earlier in the day. Just a bad year.
