Anyone know of good lakes to fish and places to stay in the Keweenaw or Houghton counties. We would be looking at some sort of cottage type place to stay? Also we have a 18 ft boat so no small hard to get to lakes. Also do we need to get out of state fising permits just like snomobiling?

Plenty of good places to stay, cabins, cottages etc...plenty of good lakes to fish, just depends on "what" you want to fish for. Yes, you will need a Non-Resident Fishing License(s) which you can get for a specified time limit. I don't think you need a special "permit" for your watercraft, just make sure it has a current valid registration.-Mezz

Mezz gave you good information. We do have cabins on Lake Roland which is part of the Twin Lakes in the UP. Excellent fishing-large Perch, jumbo Blue Gill, Crappie, Large & Small mouth bass, splake, sunfish, rainbow trout, Walleye which are hard to catch here because of so many feeder fish but when one is caught its usually a dandy. Lake Roland adjoins 2 other lakes. We welcome you to check out our website www.kruppsresort.com Yes, we do have boat docks, fish cleaning house. Wish you could talk with the people that have come & gone in the last 2 weeks-fishing has been more than excellent. They've been going home very happy.
