Hi Guys. Does anyone have report from this area for trails. I was thinking about heading up to trail ride and staying in Calumet.

There is still plenty of snow on the trails. 2-3 feet in most cases, more in others. Traffic very low at the moment. That is the good news.

The bad news is the roads are bare, the snow on the trails has gone through 3 days of melting and a day of rain. So it is not good quality. The groomers have and will be going out, but we are down to just 2 out of our 5 running. The grooming will help to flatten things out, but due to the condition of the snow, it will not hold for very long if traffic does pick up.

Another bit of good news is that it is currently snowing. Fresh snow is the ONLY thing that will allow the snow on the trails to get back to something that would hold a groom. It would probably take a good 4-6" of system snow and double that of lake effect fluff to do so. It looks like we are only going to get 1-3" out of the current snows.

So if you are not looking for perfection and are able to get past any expectations of mid-season conditions, then one sure could come up and ride anywhere within our system.

Wow the trails up here were awesome. Totally worth trip. A lot of winter left with the base they have.

One note of caution. There is one very wet spot just before you get into/out of Lake Linden on 122 to/from Gay. We helped a guy that was buried in slush and it was a huge pain. You can avoid it by cut through some town streets

We rode up to Copper Harbor on Saturday. trails were fantastic. I wish I could be up there early this week, you would probably almost have the trails to yourself

There had to have been 50 sleds parked at the Rouseau Bar Saturday about 1:00PM and many more coming and going
