Keweenaw Trails Work Session

Hi All.

We will be having another trail brushing and signing session this Autumn here in the Keweenaw. Like last year we will be concentrating on the trails at the tip of the peninsula (Lac La Belle and Copper Harbor area). The dates for the session will be the 23rd and 24th of October.

Free lodging is again being provided to all workers at the Pines in Copper Harbor and the Lac La Belle Lodge in LLB. Just be sure to mention you are coming up for the trail work when you make your reservations.

We will also be providing a free sack lunch both days and a free dinner at LLB on Saturday night.

Items of use to bring would be work boots, shovels, post hole diggers and chain saws. But the tools are not a must. Oh, and an attitude to have a good time in the beautiful Keweenaw woods!

A couple of good questions were asked via e mail and I thought I would add that info here.

You do not need to be able to work both days to be part of the trail work session. Either day or both are fine. We welcome any help we can get!

You also do not need an ATV or UTV, the trails are plenty big enough to handle a truck or SUV. Most of them could also be navigated in a car, but there are a few spots that might get a little hairy with a car, so bring the truck or SUV if you have a choice. We also have room in trucks going out so you can come in a car and still work.

Folks are starting to sign up and I hope we can get some more!
