Kiwi brand water repellent.

Has anyone used this stuff on their boots? I did a little inventory and found I own 5 pairs of boots averaging $200 a pair. all leakers. Not sure why. so I bought 2 cans of Kiwi water repellant silicone spray and totally soaked all 10 boots with the stuff and then after an hour soaked them again. I have not tried any of them out since doing this. all the boots look fine as far as no cuts tears etc. I ruled out feet sweating. What concerns me is that it says, "water Repellent" and not "water proofing". A $1000 worth of boots is a little much to give up on. note "snoseal" works for a limited time (tried that stuff too). The 5 pair consist of: Trukkes, Skidoo, RUOutside, HMK, Baffin. I know guys with leaky Klims also. (The only boot I ever owned that did not leak were my Lacrosse Icemans.) Has anyone had luck with this Kiwi spray?

Not an answer to your question, but I've had my Lacrosse boots for about 20 years and they have not failed me.

I use a silicon spray it doesn't last all that long maybe a month or so if I see the leather holding water and not beading on it it's time for another spray. HMK boots are about the worst for sweaty feet (major swamp foot) that me and my friends have found.

Never tested to failure mode the various " types of silicone " waterproofing sprays. I normally use them to help the material hold up better to the salt & snow. I'm pretty sure that anything with Gortex on it like the " leaky klims " could be sent back to the manu for resealing ??? At least that is how it works with bibs ect... The Gore company has some pretty high standards and stands behind their product thru the various manu's.
