Klim Helmet Fit, my experience

I am just putting this out there for others after having searched about the fit of a Klim helmet and not really liking what I had found. Your mileage may vary but below is my experience/opinion.

I had read several places where people said they run small and to go up one size. I have 2 different HJC helmets (closed and open) that fit good in L. I could probably jam my head into a M and have it be uncomfortable or put on an XL and have it moving all over the place, so in other words I was a solid L in HJC. Both fit good and I really like the open face HJC, but when I saw the Klim listed at Atomic Moto for $177 with free shipping I just could not help myself as I love all my Klim gear (I am now basically all Klim except mid layer depending on which one I wear and boots which will probably come along before too long). I searched and worried about size and whether or not I should order L or XL and finally ordered an L (Atomic Moto did not have anything bigger than L at that price) and received it yesterday and it seems to fit great. I noticed right away that it does sit higher on your head than HJC but the fit was good, just a little different feel. I would say unless you are right between sizes and then perhaps you would err on the larger size, but otherwise my experience would be to just order the size you wear. Everything about this helmet seems top notch as I have come to expect from Klim. The bag is awesome but for me I could really care less about having a fancy helmet bag so too bad you couldn't save another $30-35 and not get it.

Scott I agree. Klim has brought to market a great helmet with the fit and finish of the $400 + brands (as good as the Sheoi, Bells, etc) and sells it for way less. A great value. My Klim was the first helmet that fit me like a glove out of the box. I switched my cheek pads from 20mm to 15mm and it was perfect!

Scott thats a great price on the helmet! You have to let me know what goggles you have and if they work well with the Klim helmet. I have 409's and they seem to not seal too well at the top. Snow blasts thru and into my eyes. They don't fog though.

I love my Klim Helmet

I was very fortunate to find my Klim Helmet at the snow show in Novi and was able to try it on and my regular size XL fit perfectly. It is by far the best helmet I have ever owned and got it at a steal. I was also told to go one size bigger in Klim and will never listen to anyone again due to every item I bought through Klim fit perfectly in my regular size.

I bought my F4 at Haydays and the KLIM rep told me that there are only 2 shells used from small to 2XL. S-M is the same shell, and L-2XL are the same shell..the only difference is the cheek pads. For example my X-large helmet with 5mm cheek pads is essentially a 2Xl, with 10mm its a true XL, with 15mm its a Large(or something along those lines). Thought it seemed kinda weird but this guy worked for KLIM and swore it was true. If anybody knows for sure that is not true..please clear it up. I am just relaying what I was told buy a factory rep.

I read somewhere else the same thing only it was S-L the same and XL up the same. That's second hand and from my memory however, so don't take that to the bank.
