I'm looking for a warmer jacket. I now wear a 2005 Yamaha jacket with the zip in liner. I would like to know if the Klim jacket would be warmer? The Yamaha jacket is much heaver. I don't want to spend $400 to find out the Klim jacket is not any warmer. Thanks.

Bought the keweenew parka couple years ago at haydays , got a sweet deal on it, have never been warmer.
Once you buy Klim gear you don't look back, although last week out west a buddy had a pair of the inversion gloves
and was having a problem. I had a pair last year used once blew out stitching in a finger, sent in and they sent me a new pair.
Theres only one jacket warmer the Valdez but thats big bucks, to the point never been cold, but i also dress in layers to.

I've got the same jacket and stay plenty warm. I can get by with base layer, tek vest, and a light midlayer. When it gets down to 0* . I like it because I don't have layer with heavier midlayers.

i had one, it was too warm. -20 i would wear a long underwear shirt, light fleece and a tek vest and be warm. not cold at all. i've found that klim runs a bit on the small side. so if you're between sizes, you may want to go up one.

I'm on my 3rd season as well. You can't go wrong with this coat. There is a pocket for anything you need to bring and it's plenty warm and durable.

I think I had the same Yamaha jacket and changed out for the Klim last year. I would say it is equally warm and definitely more comfortable with lighter weight and more freedom of movement.

I bought a Choko jacket a few years back. The single warmest jacket I've ever owned. Anhthing above 15 degrees, and I'm sweating, that's with just a light sweatshirt underneath. Get's in that 25-30 degree range, no more than a long sleeve tee shirt or overheating becomes a problem. It is a heavier jacket when it comes to weight, but IMO as warm as the come.

Honestly? Klim is quality stuff but I believe it to be a bit over hyped and overpriced. Guys that wear it for the last 10 years don't realize lots of other manufactures have caught up to them in quality. I bought the Keweenaw parka and bibs with the inversion jacket underneath and actually rode the entire Keweenaw a week or 2 ago. At 6 degrees I was getting cold with multiple layers. Best way to sum it up is its probably 5% better in terms of warmth and quality for about 30-40% more money.

My wife and I have wore it all and just spent a ton on full Klim suits for both of us and she fully agrees, Pretty over hyped, it fact she isn't really a fan at all as she also got colder than she would have in her other gear and believe me we were fully layered up

Its actually one of the more overhyped products in sledding right now and that's saying something.

Im not saying its junk, just that there are other less expensive options Its probably better mountain/off trail gear than trail riding stuff because you work harder and sweat in those conditions

And I say this as a guy that rides in head to toe Klim gear

Here come the flaming!!!!

No flaming here. I agree. I just layer, stay away from cotton, and make sure my jackets and bibs have vents. Haven't been cold in years. I still buy my jackets and bibs for around the hundred dollar mark at swap meets. I'm not saying anything bad about Klim, I'm sure I would stay warm. I'm just not paying that much. It may be best money can buy, but it's not best for the money.

I see many of you wear a tek vest. Which one do you recommend? I see there are many manufactures and models.
