Went to ride the Western U P, up from twin cities, on my just rebuilt polaris shift I Q 550 fan. Had performance issues, Paul got me in, found the main jet had fallen out, got me taken care of and saved our weekend of riding. It was also done at very reasonable cost. I may travel there to buy my next sled i am so impressed. THANKS AGAIN TO PAUL AND HIS STAFF.

Tried to research 550 fan before i got it, found out makes big difference on Google search how you phrase it. I put in reliability of 550 in my initial search. Came up with favorable Results, after it burnt down i put in issues with 550 and got totally different results. My 97 indy 500 liquid cooled is better machine, but was looking for more suspension travel. Wish i had stayed with what I had. Live and Learn, now its over half pink cuz my daughter drives it, so I don't too much.

I meant to say that it is time to depart from the fanners and build reliable 500cc sleds for the intro market.
I can't understand Poos dogged retailing of the 550. For less than $1000 more you could easily offer a more reliable sled
with 30+ additional HP in these new awesome chassis.all with a much better resale value.

Makes you wonder how many customers they have lost by having un reliable sleds at entry level. I have rode polaris forever, so 1 bad sled probably won't turn me against them, but had it been my first, it would be my last.

I don't think the 550 is known to be unreliable. They make it cause they sell a ton of them overseas where fan cooled is preferred for harsher conditions. The shift or Indy 600 id good at a more intro price
