Well I know how Clark Griswald feels now! Our sledding vacation started on Mon the 29th. Heading to Munising, our truck started giving us issues 3 hrs on the road. Being 5pm, I know options were slim. Pulled into Nester Chevy in Roscommon and explained my predicament. Ed had pulled us right in and the Mechanic went to work. Within the hour issues were bad! Trailer with 5 sleds whole family in tow and stuck in Roscommon with no snow! Things were looking bad. Russ took over and got us a loaner while the diagnosis that Lou the mechanic worked on for the repairs. Stayed in Grayling to await the outcome. Next morning news was not good. A couple valves were shot ans even worse....parts would be in on Friday. Now in the mean time the Holiday Inn in Munising was gracious enough to postpone our reservations. After a long conversation with my CEO, a new/used truck was decided on. Not in the plans, but no going to argue because we now could continue on our trip! By 3 on Tuesday Thanks to Kevin the salesman and Randy, we were back on the road. Made it to the hotel and checked in. We decided to extend our trip and the staff at the Holiday Inn- Munising took care of the rest. Had to move rooms on New Years Eve , but the staff took care of that while we rode! AWESOME! Headed West to AU Train came across the groomer and trails were great! Then one sled breaks down by the Brownstone Inn. Good time to eat! We met Deb and she put us in contact with Scotts Repairs. He picked up the sled repaired it and delivered it back to our hotel New years day by noon. Also a BIG Thank you to Deb and Kim for the Birthday Bread pudding and the Great Harmony of your Staff. Definitely priceless! On the way back missed a turn and ended up going to Munising and found the sippie just west of town. After dumping my CEO just after the sippie, going back was not a good option! Along came a gentleman who was gracious enough to guide us back through the streets to the hotel. Didn't catch his name, but Thank you very much! Next day (New Years) Headed west to Lackenenland and had a great ride. Our family sledding trip ended with great ride and a safe trip home! Plus we didn't have Aunt Edna or her dog! Thanks to entire crew at the Holiday Inn for the wonderful accommodations and helping out! Hopefully everyone doesn't mind the kudos, but they are all well deserved and in this day sometimes helping people are hard to find!
