Kudos to Michigan DNR

Long story short, I put my trail pass on top of old stickers on a cold night. It fell off and I lost it. I had the receipt and paperwork from the gas station I bought it at. I stopped at the DNR station in Escanaba, and the nice lady at the desk called Headquarters and they approved a refund by check if I just bought another one. I got my refund check in the mail today. They could have easily called B.S., and I would have understood if they couldn't give me a refund, but they did, and all I can say is thank you, Michigan DNR.

Has anybody found any tricks to getting the backs off the stickers? I've never had an issue with the WI and MI stickers, but I bought one for MN this past weekend, and after I cut the little 1x1 square out I couldn't get the back to peel off. I kept everything in my wallet, and when I got stopped by the DNR on the trails I was able to show them everything. They were ok with it because apparently they see a ton of issues like this, and as long as it looks like I showed an effort to peel the back off they didn't fuss. I had cut the edges, tried using a knife to separate, burned the edge a little... still couldn't get it.

Thanks for any tips.

If you ride in Goodhue county they look it up on their computer to see if, when etc. that you bought it AND THEN the ****** give you a $78.00 ticket for "failure to display". Been there-done that :(

I thought I lost my MI sticker also, but now i am hearing people are stealing them also. Never had one fall off even at 115 mph before.

POLARISDAN,

I was riding up in the arrowhead. Started in Finland and headed north and east towards Grand Marais from there. I was actually impressed with how much snow they had based on reports- 8ish in Finland to 1.25/1.5 feet the farther north on the Gunflint trail I traveled. Still not a ton of snow, but the trails had plenty of snow to ride, and the forest roads were a blast.

From what I gathered, the sheriffs that I ran into were out of Grand Marais. I am from the cities, but I had my step father's (from Iowa) snowmobile so I needed to buy the trail pass. They weren't the most happy about the sticker not being on there, but I offered for them to try, and when they couldn't get the back to peel off either they dropped the issue.

By the way, big shout out to Beaver Bay Sports. If you are up that way and ever need help with your sled, they are the place to go! They have most of the basic parts in stock (unlike Sonju in Two Harbors who don't even have replacement carbides in stock) and don't try to nickel and dime you for every little thing.

Very possible someone stole it. I was staying at a motel with a lot of other sleds coming and going, and some of the people staying there were less than considerate.

2013 Apex, there close to each other in speed depending on conditions, but it's so heavy it needs power steering and I do love that. I actually take it out boondocking and get a looks like what are you doing out here?
