Were from the midwest. With the lack of snow and I "planned" trip fast approaching in early January maybe we should head west instead.

2 of us have Fuel injection models but the rest are carbs. What kind of jetting we need to do? How hard is it to change jets?

depends on how high your goin..... if your goin around 8000 you might wanna drop the main jet say 5 or 6 sizes....(350 to 290,300). your dealer should should be able to provide the info you need.

Check your owner's manual as well, often there will be specifications in there for what you need to change on your carbs and clutches (don't forget your clutches)...

If that fails call your dealer or better yet, call the closest dealer to the place you plan on riding - they will probably know much better exactly how you should be set up.

Took my 700 Viper out there a few years ago. All the info is in the manual or at the dealer. I asked the Mechanic to photo copy the chart from the service manual with all the part #s. Picked up jets, clutch weights and a top gear for the chain case from the dealer. Did all work in the garage in a hour or two. We were at 10,000 feet.
