Here in Cedarville we have had lake effect for for the past two days at a constant pace, which has given us an easy 8 inches how come the bands are not showing up on US radar as well as Canadian?

Most LES happens in the lower levels of the atmosphere and the radars are aimed to shoot above the ground at an angle. Thus the further away from the radar you are, the higher the precip has to be in order for the radar to pick it up.

So in areas more than about 75-100 miles from the radar, most LES is happening below the radar's beam.
