Doesn’t look like it. Trail is close to my Moms house, no work on the wash out by her place this summer

The group heard from Representative Greg Markkanen at its monthly <br>
meeting on Monday night, and got mostly bad news regarding two high <br>
priority issues. <br><br>Markkanen says that the Department of Natural Resources has made the <br>
repairs of the trail system connecting Hancock and Lake Linden into a <br>
“political” issue. The same goes for the potential land sale in Keweenaw<br>
County, totaling several thousand acres. President Daryl St. John says <br>
the group already manages contracts with 47 private property owners to <br>
keep the trail system accessible. The more fractured the map becomes, <br>
the harder it is to ensure buy in from all parties involved.

Hopefully I'm not asking something I should already know but is this state or private land? has anyone seen how severe the washout is? is this something that can be repaired by an outside source? or raise funds to fix it? sounds like there may be a push to keep it closed. Just would hate to see it go away, was a good run.

It's state land and they will be fixing in. Just lots of hoops for the DNR to jump through with DEQ, engineering, etc... Plus mucho dinaro !

Thanks John, I can only imagine all the hoops, hopping through some of my own with signage so I can only imagine. Hopefully will be sooner than later.

Acquaintance who lives near the trail in Hubbell says they were doing mapping last summer, he spoke with a crew member and he was from out of state (IL)?).

Took a ride up there today, no activity this season yet by my Moms house.

Hopefully it gets fixed someday
