Lake Superior Swimming

We were swimming in Lake Superior in July AND August! Have never experienced anything like it - SWIMMING, not just being the brave one to go under for bragging rights!

All our time on the beaches and I stated "All I know is I have a body built for snowmobiling!"

After this hot arsed summer I am more ready than ever to get on my sled and rip through some snow!!

It was definitely one for the books. I really do like summer but if I wanted tropical humidity I'd move to Honduras (or at least St. Louis)

Swimming regularly on the Western shore is pretty impressive. I've been know to jump in on the Eastern side but it is more protected and I think it tends to have warmer surface temps.

Even in the heat of summer, every time I go in my shed and see those machines sitting there I think about the next winter. I've re-acquired one of my old honest-to-goodness trail machines (a 2000 XP SC) and even though I'm fundamentally an off-trail person I'm actually kind of fired up about a little Tokyo Drift action on the trail this winter.

Thanks for the reminder...

These are 2 pics from our August trip. Same day - got there around noon and HUGE waves! So much fun! Went back around dusk and waves were gone and was a smooth as glass. Pics from the daily swims in July are on my phone...as IF I know how to get those to my 'puter!

I'm assuming the pics of the swimming were what you wanted and not verification that I have a body built for snowmobiling!! :D
