Appreciate any "boots on the ground" reports on the current conditions in the area. Heading up Thursday 2/8 and it doesn't look like any additional snow in the forecast. Thanks in advance.

We have been riding the past 5 days. Trail conditions varied a bit. It seems the most beat up is the Taconite from Ely to the Arrowhead trail. That section received a bunch of traffic during the warm up a few weeks ago. They are grooming but expect low snow in the heavy tree cover, sharp corners and steep hills. It is rideable and we plan on going on it later this week. The rest of the Taconite going west to the Tim Corry was pretty good last Thursday.

The Arrowhead from the Taconite to the Landing Bar has enough snow for the most part, but for some reason the state has not groomed it for the last week. it is a bit choppy. North of the Landing Bar wasn’t to bad on Saturday. There are icy corners on all of the trails.

Lake Vermilion sucks on the stakes . The deeper snow off the stakes isn’t to bad.

We have not gone down south of Tower much this year so no help there. There seems to be more snow cover Ely east and Vermilion north. Have fun you should be ok riding this week.

Thanks again oldguy. Appreciate any updates on the Taconite from Tower to Ely as I was thinking about heading that way on Thursday.

The Taconite yesterday was better then last weekend and the Arrowhead was groomed as well. Lots of trailers at the Casino, the word must be out
