Heading up and riding Friday and Saturday. Haven't been there in years and rode Arrowhead trail into Int. Falls. Want to ride Taconite trail and area East this time. Need lunch-dinner stop ideas. Thanks

from the casino east you have
Tower- Bench Warmers and Good Old Days
Babbit-- Junction Bar and Tanks
Ely --lots of places in Ely but easy ones to get to are Grand Ely lodge and Silver Rapids east of Ely on White Iron Lake
Isabella—25 miles east is the Trestle Inn

Yes ride south and east to the Trestle Inn. It has been a "must see" for years. Skip Ely and stop at God old Days when you get back, it's a great little spot. We do this trip at least once a year.

Not trying to hijack your thread but I'm wondering how late in the year this area remains rideable? My 13 year old son wants to ride and trails have remained pretty much closed around us, but we won't have a weekend opportunity until March 3rd. I know weather can change in a heartbeat, but "historically" is anyone still riding this area the first weekend in March? I have heard great things about the trails and the lack of traffic.
