L'anse

Is there a trailhead in L'anse? we would like to do the Big Bay loop, coming down from Calumet area.

You might ask to park at the L'Anse Motel ans Suites or The Hilltop Motel. Not sure if they would let you park there, but the trail runs right through both places. There is also a parking lot down by the bay. The access trail is across the street next to the Certainteed plant.

Parking lot down by the bay very well may be your best bet - meant for trucks with boat trailers so plenty of room to maneuver. Another couple thoughts are the Shopko and small park-n-ride lot just up the hill (0.25 mile) from where the trail goes past the Hilltop.

When you are done with the ride stop at the hilltop restaurant and get a cinnamon roll. Seriously, they keep them pre-packaged right at the front counter.

We ride from Spread Eagle to L'Anse and back as one of our routes. We always go to the Hilltop Restaurant. I really like this place to stop. Never packed, good service, decent food, Sled right outside the door and right on the trail. Definitely recommend this place.

It may be a few miles away but you could drop at Baraga Casino, they are on the trail.
