With the exception of the mountains, most of WY is a desert or almost dry enough to be classified as a desert. There are the rare instances when you could find enough snow on the ground to get you from Laramie to Togwotee, but no trail system exists to get you there and there are vast open areas with nothing, no gas, no food, so lodging.

Western riding is WAY different from that of the Midwest.

Closest you can get to "riding" to Togwotee, would be to pick up the Continental Divide Trail in Lander, WY and ride the rest of the way. Still probably 4 hours in the truck from Larimie to Lander. Even then you would still run into sections of the trail system that would be very sketchy at best -- snow wise.

Just when you thought you heard it all! John is 100% correct. My question is why would one even consider it?

My dad has a place in Saratoga Wyoming www.brushcreekranch.com. Would of loved to be able to visit him then head to Togwotee by sled. That is why I asked the question PR1. I put the question as Laramie because I wasn't sure if people would know where Saratoga was located at in the state. Not a seasoned western rider so that is probably why the question seemed crazy to you.
