Got back Monday evening from our last trip of the season to Mercer.

Awesome riding conditions - Saturday evening to Monday morning, 300 miles. Mercer to Presque Isle to Bessemer to Saxon to Mercer area. Great riding in 40 to 52 degree weather

Sunday evening we got to pull a couple lost guys out of the woods. One guy out of gas, his buddy pulling him was almost out as well, and they were separated from their two other riding buddies.

Monday morning we put what could be the last tracks on about 65 miles of trails. Mercer trail 10 to 12A to 13 to 8 to 17. 50 miles of great to excellent, 14 miles of good, and 1 mile of fugly. The memory of Trail 13 is burned in my mind to get me through the next 9 months without snow; smooth as a babies bottom, wide open, sweeping turns, 50 to 70 mph, and grinning ear to ear.

And, 70 degrees driving back through Northern Illinois - first time i have ever used the A/C coming back from a snowmobiling trip.

How did you end your season?

We took our last ride March 9th. Left Wisconsin Rapids and headed toward Plainfield in the early morning. Headed towards Plainfield and stayed on the west side of 39 as we headed south. Crossed 39 by Hancock and headed south to Coloma over to Richford up to Wautoma and then started to head back home. Packed a couple of sandwiches and some chips and had a picnic on the side of the trail. The seat felt warm when we got back on after enjoying our lunch. All the trails
had been groomed and we met very few riders. It was a perfect ride to end a perfect year. Pulled the sled into the garage with 2140 miles for the season. No better way to spend a day off then cruising smooth trails, enjoying the fresh air and feeling the heat of the sun as we take in the scenery in central WI. Can't wait until next year.

Last ride--- Great and Bad---something to remember

Cut our Florida vacation short to get one more ride in last weekend. Arrived home in Tower MN on Saturday, jumped on the sleds and enjoyed some of the best trail conditions of the year, without freezing our Ash off like most of the winter.

Sunday got up and decided to watch the water skips on Vermilion and get a little lunch. We were playing in some deep slush on a small bay when the 800 Switch decided today was the day it needed an new engine, It sank up to the top of the tunnel in the slush with the engine locked up.

We spent the rest of the afternoon shoveling, pulling, swearing getting the 500 pound anchor to solid ground so I could do the walk of shame pulling it back home.

I will have all summer to remember it needs to get fixed.
