Has areas of the UP been getting Lake effect rains on Fri and Sat?

It is possible that there may be some lake enhancement going on with the precip across the northern UP, but I don't think temps aloft are not quite cold enough for much influence from the lake. The vast majority of the precip falling is just from the synoptic system.

Sure feels like late September though!

We did. Although Saturday mid-afternoon, it stopped, we even had a few peaks of sun and it stayed dry until sunset at least.

Been pouring rain all day today. Probably an inch or more so far.
