LES Shutting Down?

Local weather forecasters are starting to minimize the ability for Superior to produce LES due to massive lake ice. They see 1-3 inchers now and then but no massive dumps. Are LES dumps on hold now or can other factors still turn on the snow guns?
Thanks,
Pete

Have those local forecasters head to Twin Lakes to report on how the ice will impact LES production!

In all seriousness. A surprising amount of heat and moisture can still make its way into the atmosphere from a lake that is not frozen solid. So the ice on the big lake now will have some impacts, but as dramatic as said by your local forecasters...at least not in the main LES belts.

Thanks John that’s exactly why I asked you if an LES dump could still happen even tho lake ice was starting to accumulate. Sounds like snowbelts currently can still get bombed.
Thanks,
Pete
