Let's Give Thanks

No matter your thinking on how big a threat the virus is or the actions taken to prevent the spread of it, there are some real life heros out there right now.

The purpose of this thread is to give thanks to either specific individuals or a category of individuals who are doing something to help the country get past this latest struggle. You can make as many thanks as you want, repeat thanks already given or just read and say a silent thanks.

I will start out by saying thanks to all the front-line health care workers who are literally putting their lives at risk by going to work and helping those that are sick. There are way too many of them that have died already and I pray for the health of all of them.

On a personal note, I want to thank Nora's Aunt, who is a nurse in the prison system here in the UP. Two prisoners in that system have been diagnosed and one died. I do not believe either of them were in the building she works at, but is of little comfort at this point.

I would thank my good fortune for having a warm home, plenty to eat, and good health thus far. This quarantine surely has given many of us time for self awareness. And yes, I'd like to thank the hero healthcare workers, police and fire, EMT's, and volunteers. Thank you!

I have two life time friends that are nurses, thank you so much! Thank you to my wife, she works at a bank, even though the lobby is closed, she is still dealing with a ton of customers.

Very thankful for all the healthcare workers! Crazy to think these folks have to deal with this everyday, and then come home to their family’s.

My wife spent her life as a nurse. We would like to thank all the first hand Health Care, EMT's, Fire, Police, Responders of all kinds, volunteers, etc, of our great country. May God bless our country, and these special people in this time of need!

I would like to thank my wife Patty who works for Pro Health in the Waukesha, WI area. She goes in everyday to face the the people that come in with symptoms of COVID-19. Currently we are up at the cabin with our family until 4/7 and thankful that we are healthy and can spend the time time together. She goes back to work then and I start traveling again on 4/6. We have a company to run and don't have options like I'm sure many of you don't.

Also, I would like thank all of the front line healthcare workers that are trying to stop this this crisis. Stay close to those your loved ones as Im sure you all are.

They are the ones that we need to keep in our thoughts and prayers.

I would like to thank the farmers. They have been dealing with tough times for years with low prices and weather struggles. Things went from bad to worse for them with this virus business. They feed the world and its a thankless job. I am thankful to be able to fill my freezer with good local pork and beef from our farmers. God bless the farmers and all of us dealing with this mess. I also would like to thank the farmers that have had a difficult time in the past few years due to things they cant control yet they continue to feed the world and now this and again of no fault of their own but continue to do what they know the world asks them of, and continue to do so knowing where the markets are, just as things were starting to improve for the dairy industry farmers are now being asked to dump their milk. I don't think they get the respect and thanks they deserve because without them where would we be and I would just like to say THANK YOU!

I'm thankful I'm able to at least operate at around 80% capacity now. We have customers constantly thanking us for still being open and giving them a little bit or normalcy during these crazy tough times.

I wish to thank all the level headed, realistic, generous people in this world. The ones who go to the grocery store and get what they need and remember there are others who need it as well, as there is no shortage of food other than the one created by the selfish.
I wish to thank all the level headed, realistic, generous people in this world who realize that there are still the same amount of butts to wipe and that this virus has a very miniscule chance if creating a situation where toilet paper or not having it would be a problem. And again there is no shortage other than the one created by the selfish.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who remembers that there are other people in this world with needs, not wants! For those that don't.... remember that when you reach for something or need something and you cant get it either because of the same selfish mindset.
I JUST DONT GET IT!

Well said Euphoric1, Its disapointing to see how selfish people act in these times. Its just me and my wife at home now and we have managed to survive on two large packs of TP over the last 4 weeks. Foe Gods sake people, how much TP do you need?

Kind of. Yes, some are boarding but.....How much TP do you think airports are going thru now? How bout restaurants, bars, businesses.....get point.
Was an article, I'll try find it, figures household TP usage will rise 40%. "Industrial" TP is in larger rolls and lesser quality.......don't just flip switch make more consumer rolls.
