Lights, Ski Doo & Relay issue

I have a 2003 MXZ Renegade 600HO. Sometimes when I first start it, I have no electric to the lights and handwarmers. Usually after a few minutes, they magically start to work. Can a bad relay cause an intermittent problem like this or would everything not just work. Also, does anyone know the part number and exactly where the relay is located on this sled? Any other possibilites?

Thanks,

I have this same issue going on with a 2004 Renegade. Tested all the fuses and electrical plug ins. I haven't checked the relay cause had to get a volt tester. Let me know if you find anything out.

Thanks

My plan was to just buy a new relay and swap it out. There pretty cheap. I am not very mechanical and when I open up the hood, I can't make sense out of all the wires and connectors and so forth. So if someone can give me the part number and where its located (mine is a zx chassie) I'll swap and see. I know its a common problem and remember seeing something in one of the mags addressing it.

Can't remember for sure, but I believe the relay on those is above the carbs, up by the frame. Just change it. Get one from Napa for a few bucks. If thats not it, you have a spare, and would look at regulator.

I had a 07 blizzard and the relay blew late one night, luckily my buddy had a spare he drove a 600 sdi as well. When the relay goes bad you don't always experience the same malfunctions. When mine blew the sled simply wouldn't start it was dead. My friends blew once and all that happened was he lost his headlight. On a rev chassis pop the hood and the fuse panel is staring right at you. I think there are three relays in there. Buy a new one at Napa ( its a ford fan relay) and just swap it in. Use the process of elimination to determine to find the faulty relay.Actually buy two at napa stick one in your tool kit.
