Loading a Rzr in a truck

I just bought the 50" rzr and realized that it's too tall to fit into my 2 place enclosed snowmobile trailer. Didn't see that one coming. Anyways, I thought I'll just buy a couple of ramps ($100 + $25shipping) and load it right in the bed of the truck.

My only concern is the wheel wells. The tires are 50" wide and the distance between the wheel wells is just under 50". Do you think that it'll just slide in there?

The other dilemna that I have is; I have a retrax on the truck. That's a retractable bed cover. It takes about another foot off of the length of the bed. There's just enough room to get the centerline of the rear tire on the tailgate. Do you think I'm pushing it here? I would use a hefty strap to hold it in. TIA

Not thinking ahead. Seems like you got that one down! :)

I have that Triton trailer that I showed you. May be willing to sell. Just need to get my sled back to the UP first and hopefully soon!!! I'd like a covered 12' trailer for future use.

If its a short bed, that foot you lose with the cover will bite you bad. The wheels are on the edge of the tailgate already.

I looked up how to remove the cover. That is a must. It's only 4 clamps holding it on. Just remove the clamps and pick up the cover. Problem solved. That gives me an extra 13" to hold the atv. Just a little extra time removing and putting the cover back on. It should only have to happen twice a year anyway.

Dave, I just can't justify buying another trailer. I'm having enough trouble finding storage for all my toys lol!

I brought mine home from Minnesota in the back of the truck 350 miles. If it is short bed
(6' 6") truck you have to remove the cover and back it up to the wall. Depending on the year of your truck, it will fit between the wheel wells. Mine had the wider tires and I had to drive over the wells. You will want to back it into the truck. Seems scary at first just put it in AWD and it will walk right up. You want the weight off the tailgate and sience the motor is in the back that puts most of the weight over the axle. What I did was take 2 ratchet straps (one on each side) and hook them from the hole in the tailgate at the top where the latch is, back to the stake pocket hole on the inside to take the stress off the cables. Just tied the RZR in with ratchet straps. Still do this on trips if the atv is not coming too.
Hope this helps, Matt

I was thinking it would be better to back it up since that motor is in the rear. I just didn't want to do it, but I'm sure once I do it one time it'll be a walk in the park. Just like learning how to load snowmobiles into a tilt trailer.

I appreciate your experience.

What ramps do you use? I was looking at the 1200lb rated ramps but I think that is pushing it. I was going to go up to 1500. The cost is about $150. They're 7.5' long. They're also on backorder till mid April but that's not a big d.

I have a set of Aluminum folded arched ramps that are 1500 lb per pair 7.5' long. They are much nicer than the straight ramps. The arch helps alot for loading from flat ground. They do flex but hold the weight just fine and you can store them under the RZR. I got mine from discount ramps.com. Cheapest I found for what I wanted.

I think those must be the ones that are on backorder unti mid April. I'm going to order a set.
