Hey everybody, this may be a shot in the dark but most of you have many many more trips up into the UP than I do so I figured its worth asking. Just yesterday I purchased a brand new 16' Switchback Pro S 800. Super excited to ride and my fiancée is equally excited as I gave her my 12' Shift 600. We will both be getting used to new sleds, but have ridden up there many times. Usually we stay in Hurley, so I'm most familiar with those trails, but at the beginning of the season I stayed in Mass City right after Christmas and rode the trail 13 up to Houghton and back two weekends in a row when it was the only trails you could ride at the time.

But long story longer I'm looking to break in the new sled, and get some riding in with her this weekend, anywhere from Hurley to roughly Mass City area. Looking for lodging advice as we will be bringing our 10 month old boxer up with us, keeping her in her giant kennel during the day when were out riding. What makes me like Hurley area is we can do shorter trail loops vs up between mass city and Houghton, and that lets us do a short ride, come back for lunch let the dog out and run around then go back out for another short ride. But the drawback is I also know how much snow that the area around the Mosquito bar has fallen in the last week and I REALLY want to ride that!! We stayed at peppermill last time and brought the dog and it was perfect, but they are full this time.

Does anybody have any good reccommendations? I'm not set on either the UP or Hurley area, but would prefer something a little more private if possible like peppermill had just so I know the dog wont be going crazy every time someone else comes in the building were staying in. I'm 95% sure just sits and sleeps in her kennel when were gone anyway, but it doesn't hurt to be in something more private than an AmericInn also. So is there something you guys can think of? Something halfway between hurley and twin lakes area? Bergland? we would love to be able to hit lake of the clouds, Hurley if wanted, and the Mosquito on separate days if there was a location that allowed that! Thanks for listening to my rambling!
