Looking for a way to carry extra gas.

I am looking for a cheap and easy way to carry about 2 extra gallons of gas with me. 2 years now someone has run out of gas on one of our annual trips about 6 miles away from the gas station. I only need it once or twice a year and I want to keep it in my tunnel bag. Any ideas?

MSR makes aluminum fuel bottles. I am not sure how large they make them. You will probably need several if you wish to carry two gallons. They are kind of pricey also. The ones I have are only 1/4 gallon each going from memory.

Rope is better. It will never leak or need filling. 6 miles of towing every year is a good refresher so you don't forget how to do it. Plus you can use the rope in the summer to tie your boat up or something. Only Eskimos carry extra gas.

"Tour Buddy" increases total gallons but the tanks are connected into the fuel system so it's kind of like carrying extra fuel. Tank(s) fit under hood for the most part.

You can buy a " super siphon" and there are military " jerry" cans that don't leak as another option. All different sizes on-line.

Koplin makes a 1.25 Gallon Can that you can mount on your Sled. I have 2 on my ATV.

Never needed them on my ETEC.

I take that back I have carried a Gas Can on my ETEC so I can help out some of my friends when they run out. Yes, I am guilty of making the wrong turn on the Trail, so they run out and I can smile a little.
