Looking for land to buy in the UP

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about land for sale in the UP. I'd like to have something waterfront or close to water and close to trails. I'm thinking about building a cabin for retirement and just recreation but location will mean everything.

I know there are a lot of UP riders here with a lot more insight about the wilderness and who may own land that's for sale. Perhaps you know someone with land for sale?

Thanks!

You won't find a better spot or deal for the money if lake front is what your looking for and in this area....its an amazing lake with great frontage no stairs needed, your own boat launch (the only other one on this lake is a 20minute drive one way), already cleared and level building site, 30X30 garage in great condition, super super private, but only 5 minutes to one of the greatest bar and only 12 miles to town. You can ride to the snowmobile trail, be on lake gogebic in 15 minutes, its surrounded by the national forest... shoot it's a great deal!! and yeah that was a sales pitch  for sure but all true :)

We lived there for 2 years, sold the house and 2 1/2 acers and bought the Resort. We were going to build and live there once we got the this place going but we have decided we want to stay right here, so we don't want it any more. I tell you we looked for years it's a great place

Thanks for the input everyone.

You're very helpful. I have been in touch with some realtors and one was Josh Stein. He knows of some CHEAP priced things that I may be interested in. I just have to build and do some other things.

The biggest hurdle for me will be driving 10 hours through snow! I'm about that distance away from the Western UP. But, the western basin of Lake Erie just doesn't have any trails!

$150K for 2.5 acres is a deal galore here in the desert southwest, especially with a building, nearly private lake with ramp attached to it. Just curious, what type of utilities do you have on the property? (septic, well, power, etc) Also, what fish species might be found in the lake?

One of the pics taken from a corner of the deck nearly caused to me to pass out with sensory overload!

And yes, I am looking to relocate very soon after my retirement.

Polarice - I have a realtor that I work with out of Marquette. She has some properties up there she is trying to sell. If you are looking more in the Marquette or Michigamme area, I know she's got some available. Let me know and I'll get you her number.

Dave,

I'm interested. We're going to Wetmore and through Marquette to Skanee on Saturday. Is she a realtor?

Thanks

My wife's uncall has a nice cabin in Deering Mi. It is listed by Century 21. Carol Stevens is the realitor. 906-228-5230 We have stayed there many many times. A great place, well insulatd (sp) right on the trails, 12 miles east of marquette off of highway 28. It has a small river on the land, great for fishing. The listing is: MLS1048838. If you buy it I hope we could rent it from you. I live in Kentucky, 13 hour drive or I would buy it my self. Also has a 3 car garage with it

I would love to have that property! It's out of my price range. I'm going to start small with a piece of land and then eventually build.

Yes, she's a realtor. I'll get her number to you in the morning. I know she has a few acres for sale right on M-28 east of the casino and right on the trail. She has posted it on here before. I think she wanted $9,000 for it. I don't know what else she has but you should talk to her.

3 acres ON snowmobile trail between Marquette and Munising. 1 mile off M28 on year round road. $7500 OBO, must sell.

Here's the old thread.

238 feet of frontage!

You won't find a better deal than that for 238' of frontage on a lake. That's $630 a foot, not to mention it's not just bare land.
