Yam 150 Engine miles are not a concern. I have around 7,000 miles on my 2007 Attak GT & only did exhaust donuts. If apex is 121 pass too much track spin no matter how many studs you use. Ok deal if 136 track & GT with electric ohlin mono with beefed up rear spring. 06s were too soft & most went to big boy spring for 200 lbs+ riders. Check front end bushings for tightness, track condition & clutches for wear. You will need triple point Bergstroms with shims & ski savers or will dart but very curable. Do you ride in lots of loose snow? 06-08s might overheat in hardpack 09s added rear heat exchanger & dealer can install rear heat exchanger for 500 bucks. Largest concern is 121 or 136 as Apex has now gone to 128 & 144as 121 was too darn short 136 is perfect balance for 150 & bridges bumps as well & is sweet ride over studders & wash board.

Just from passing, sounds a bit high-priced. I would guess about $4k closer to the mark. As always each sled requires complete analysis, while some might be fine, others at that miles might start to require replacement items.

Many more sleds will start showing up in a month or a bit more. September and October are prime time for used sleds in my area.

Keep an eye on this one for price, even if you don't buy it yourself and have it shipped back. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005...0595502898?pt=Snowmobiles&hash=item43a8d77b32

Apex Attak & Apex LTX are 136 tracks much better handling & hook up than any Apex 121. GT have best ohlin mono shocks. Top end of Yam speedos happy but odometers are right on when I have compared to AC,Poo & Doo so milage is correct unless new speedo was installed. Yam 4s engine milage just not an issue if oil was changed each year. Yam says change Oil Filter every 12,000 miles but most change filter every year. This is the 1st year I changed oil but didn't change filter since season ended so early in Feb & limited my riding milage. My oil was super clean but I always change oil each Spring.

2005 RX1 moose posted sit down sled & moutain Apex & RX1 geared lower & track lugs too high for trail use. Best buy is 2006 Apex Attak GT or LTX GT thru 2010. Fusion may be selling his 2009 Apex LTXGT PM him as he often upgrades in August. He may be ready for EPS upgrade or a Doo & does not put on many miles just likes to upgrade.

07 Attak GTs in good shape asking for between $5-6K is good deal so $5,500ish up a little or down a little is fair. 2500 miles about when Yam 150 is fully broken in & wakes up.

Everything Whitedust says. Dealer serviced is good. If it has the original track with those miles you can look to be replacing it soon especially if it is studded. Looks count for a lot. A well maintained sled with 6000 miles is usually better than one that has 2000 but looks rough. Yami speedos suck (most do) but the odometer will be close. When was the last time it got donuts? How old is the battery? Who rode it - some kid or a geezer? As has been said we are only a month or so away from prime selling season. There will be lots to choose from with the economy as sucky as it is. No rush. I personally still like my 121 but the overwhelming opinion is go longer.

I have a good bud ( riding bud ) who has 1 of those. He has replaced several items, chain case, exh mani, donuts, I'm not saying this sled is plaqued with issues. my bud goes over all his stuff with a fine tooth comb and constantly will find the smallest issues. I'm pretty sure as the Apex's model year advanced so did the " tech " so some things that were issues early on have been improved. Pretty hard to beat Yami in the 4 stroker innovation arena. I don't even know if they even make a 2 anymore ? If you are still considering this sled ? PM me or e-mail me and I will get you Jim's phone #. He loves to talk about his Apex. He talks fast but he could catch you up on 5 years of Yami's advancement.

Bud says the chain case leak, he updated, they make a brass donut for those, the shocks need re-valved stiffer some thing breaks due to too much bottoming out, the biggie to him was the chain case. The motor has been bullet proof.

Wouldn't it be the opposite (since they read a higher speed compared to GPS)?

Yam speedo happy at 100mph + but odometer is right on to all other brands each time I compared to milage odometers on AC, Doo & Poo. I don't know speedo realtionship to top speed odometer but Yam odometers right on with other brands. Odometer must be separate electronic caulation from upper end of speedo caulation & has Trip A&B caluation very helpful for range & distance so you know when you need gas regardless of gas gauge & end of day total trip milage. Yam odometers so good told me that I would run out of gas 1 mile from gas station & sure as heck did so don't don't second guess them..lol :)

That's a great price for that sled, I wouldn't worry about the miles at all. If the sled is clean then you know the owner took care of it.

That's interesting. I always assumed the odometer and speedometer would measure together.

Interesting topic also. I've been thinking that a used Yami might be the way to go. When gas isn't as high, we typically ride high mileage days (300+ at times) and buying a used Yami might be a good way to control the costs. With gas at $4 + the cost of oil, it gets hard to want to go through 25+ gallons a day...

Is all electrical display pod so can have several things goin on at the same time separate of each other. The Vector is Yam sled for you 125 -130 ponies never seen fall below 16 mpg even with carbs & can go near 25 mpg if easy on it. Yam Apex 150 maybe 18mpg if you putt putt but averages around 15mpg never seen below 12mpg. Thank goodnesss no 2s oil consumption at $4 a gallon gas.

great info i am leaning towards an 07 Attack and as far as mileage goes i get around 16 on my o9 apex ltx so 14 as jeff states sounds about right thats one of the reasons i chose yamaha not to mention no oil to buy and i only ride on trails mostly so the weight thing does not bother me and i love the sound of that 4stroke and the torque when you first hit it.

ive never seen a yama 4s get better that 14mpg

6 sleds, over 50000 miles, never a daily average under 14, but thats just my experience. Suspension setup has more of an effect on mpg than most think. One DNF ( broken drive shaft).
