Loons Nest Motel in Mercer

Has anyone stayed here? Hoping for snow around first weekend of march and will be bringing the wife. Normally stay in Boulder Junction at the old Norther Highland (now the Acorn Lodge) and have always been happy, but thinking about trying Mercer. Wanted to get peoples opinion of this place or other suggestions. Thanks. And if anyone has any pull another foot of snow before then would be great.

He has two places he rents out. There is a special he is running in the supporter section of this forum. Good people. Trail is right across the street and he's located on grand Portage Lake.

you can never go wrong staying anywhere in mercer.

I'm going up the first week of March. They call me the glimmer because I ride so fast, you see a glimmer of light, feel the warmth, then get rattled by the custom exhaust. I bring it!

You had better bring wheels if you intend to snowmobile the first week of March in Mercer. I have never gotten past the middle of Febuary. Good Luck

The LoonsNest is a clean older reasonably priced place to stay nothing fancy.Nice friendly people.They also have a house they rent.

My wife and I stayed there a few times. Not the most modern place, but it is clean quite, and reasonably priced. It is also within walking distance of a few different bars with food, and a gas station right next door.
