Finally made my first trip to the Keweenaw! Wife and I drove up on Wednesday to do some site seeing and see the fall colors.
What a beautiful week to have have some days off. I actually ran out of short sleeves figuring it would be cooler out.
Had a great time trying to find all the beautiful spots John has showed us over the years. Even found some waterfalls, close to the road, and one not so close. Of course we also had to hit the Gay bar and the Bear belly bar.
So thanks John for cluing me in to what a beautiful area you have, we had a great time. Now just need to get back in the winter. (planning on Dec. 17th)
Here's some pics

Wow, those pics are awesome. I love the area too. If you were at the gay bar you were only a couple of miles from my house.

Funny, I'm pretty sure I seen your house as we flew by. I hit brakes and slowed down enough to notice all the planted pines. That's when it hit me I've seen that before and remembered the thread about planting trees. So that's what gave me the idea to send you that pm. Looks like a great area to live.

Houghton really surprised me. I knew it was a college town, but never realized it was that large and had every fast food restaurant there is.

Funnies thing that happend on the trip. We stopped at a little general store in Copper harbor for snack when this old guy pops in and asked the clerk if they have a USA TODAY paper. She burst out laughing, yeah right. I was laughing too.
